I mean, can you just have the surgery and skip the hormones?

  2. They are very important. There are different kinds of hormones doing different things to your body. Some of them help you look more masculine/feminine, and the others allow your new genital organs to work properly. So, no, you can’t simply skip the hormones.

  4. I think you can do it the other way round, just take the hormones and not have a surgery. But surgery without hormones before and after, no way.
