  1. Every surgery that involves anesthesia comes with some risk of complication and possible fatal outcome. That being said, surgeons and other medical staff working on your reassignment surgery need to be fully aware of your medical status, condition, history and other things, before they give the procedure a green light, that is, if they deem that your are in in particularly high risk of complications and death during surgery. So basically the risks are the same as for any other sort of surgery.
